Most issues can be resolved by checking the rule, its permissions, and today’s schedule.

Progress shows zero

HealthKit intentionally does not reveal whether read access was denied. Zero means there is no readable data for the current calculation window.

  1. Review Block until… access in the Health app.
  2. Confirm the selected metric has data for the relevant day.
  3. Open Block until… and tap Refresh Health.

Apps did not unlock immediately

Check Today for another active rule that covers the same app or category. Ending one rule cannot unlock an item that another rule still covers. Background Health updates and Device Activity callbacks are best effort; opening Block until… performs a foreground check.

A rule needs attention

Open Rules, select the rule, and check its name, condition, blocked selection, and required permissions. A scheduling problem fails open for the affected rule while unrelated rules continue.

The shield does not appear

Use Settings → Show Introduction if Screen Time access needs repair.

Pause blocking

Pause an individual rule from its Today card or editor. Use Pause All to pause every rule for 15 minutes, one hour, or the rest of today. A timed pause uses a system wake-up and also reconciles whenever you reopen the app.

Duration and clock changes

Durations store an absolute deadline and may cross midnight. Manually changing the system clock can change the apparent remaining time.

Change active days or hours

Open Rules, choose a Health or recurring rule, edit its days and same-day start/end time, then tap Save. The start is inclusive and the end is exclusive.

Reset the app

Settings → Reset Block until… stops all monitoring, clears this app’s shield store, and removes every local rule and runtime. It does not revoke Apple Health or Screen Time permissions.

Pro purchases and offer codes

The free tier includes access to one active rule at a time. Pro lets up to 10 rules run together. Open Settings → Block until… Pro to purchase, restore a purchase, manage an active subscription, or redeem an App Store offer code.

If Pro does not appear after a purchase or code redemption, confirm the device uses the same Apple Account and tap Restore Purchases. An expired subscription does not delete saved rules or unexpectedly remove restrictions that are already active.
