Terms of Service

Effective and last updated: August 25, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Block until… mobile application and website (the "Service"), operated by Kin-Lung Wong ("Block until…," "we," "us," or "our"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

1. Eligibility

You must be legally able to agree to these Terms. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, you may use the Service only with permission and supervision from a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms. You may not use the Service if doing so would violate applicable law.

2. What the Service provides

Block until… lets you create rules that ask Apple’s Screen Time frameworks to shield selected apps, categories, or websites until a Health goal is complete, a duration ends, or a recurring schedule is no longer active. When rules overlap, an item may remain blocked until every matching rule is clear.

Important limitations. Block until… is a self-control tool, not a medical device, healthcare service, emergency service, parental-control service, or anti-tamper system. Apple controls HealthKit, Family Controls, Managed Settings, and Device Activity. Permissions, background delivery, callbacks, system limits, restarts, clock changes, and operating-system behavior may delay, interrupt, or prevent blocking or unblocking. Do not rely on the Service where failure could cause injury, loss, or other serious harm.

3. Your configuration and permissions

You choose your rules, targets, schedules, durations, and private Screen Time selections. You are responsible for reviewing them and for maintaining any Apple permissions required by a rule. Health information and automated progress can be incomplete or delayed. Review the app’s status before relying on a rule.

Your use of HealthKit, Screen Time, the App Store, iOS, and other Apple services is also subject to Apple’s applicable terms and policies. Our handling of information is described in the Privacy Policy.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

5. License and intellectual property

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, revocable, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, non-exclusive license to use the Service for its intended purpose. The Service, including its software, design, branding, and documentation, is owned by Kin-Lung Wong or licensed to us and is protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not transfer ownership of the Service to you.

6. Feedback

If you send ideas or feedback, you grant us a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free right to use that feedback without restriction or compensation. Do not send confidential information as feedback.

7. Purchases and subscriptions

The app includes a free tier and optional Pro access sold through Apple as monthly and annual auto-renewable subscriptions or a one-time lifetime purchase. The exact price and billing period shown in the App Store purchase confirmation control. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled through your Apple Account at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Apple processes payments, renewals, cancellations, refunds, offer codes, and Family Sharing under its terms.

“Lifetime” means access to the Pro features of this app for as long as we make the app available and technically support those features; it does not guarantee perpetual operation, compatibility, updates, or availability. Losing Pro access will not cause the app to delete rules or unexpectedly remove restrictions that are already active, but starting additional rules may require renewed Pro access.

8. Updates and availability

We may update, add, change, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Service. Updates may be required for continued use. We do not promise that the Service, any feature, or support will always be available, compatible with every device or iOS version, or free from errors.

9. Ending use

You may stop using the Service at any time and may reset or delete the app. We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect the Service or others, comply with law, or address a material breach of these Terms. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

10. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim all express and implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. We do not warrant that restrictions will always activate or deactivate at a particular time, that Health information will be complete or current, or that the Service cannot be bypassed. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kin-Lung Wong and Block until… will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, opportunities, or device access arising from the Service. Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of US$100 or the amount you paid for the Service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. These limits do not apply where prohibited by law.

12. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Kin-Lung Wong and Block until… from claims, losses, liabilities, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful misuse of the Service or material violation of these Terms or another person’s rights.

13. Disputes, arbitration, and governing law

Please contact us first at developer@valentinowong.com so we can try to resolve a dispute informally. Except for claims eligible for small-claims court or requests for injunctive relief concerning intellectual-property or unauthorized-access matters, disputes arising from these Terms or the Service will be resolved by individual, binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its applicable Consumer Arbitration Rules. Arbitration may be conducted remotely unless the parties agree otherwise.

You and Block until… waive the right to a jury trial and to participate in a class, collective, consolidated, or representative action to the fullest extent permitted by law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York and applicable federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. If arbitration is found not to apply, exclusive venue will be in the state or federal courts located in New York, subject to applicable consumer-law rights.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service or law changes. If a change materially affects your rights, we will provide notice through the Service or another reasonable method when required. The updated Terms will show a new effective date. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.

15. General terms

These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be modified to the minimum extent necessary and the rest will remain effective. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a reorganization, sale, or transfer of the Service. We are not liable for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control.
